Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday dedicated to remembering friends and family members who have passed on. Although I am not Catholic (and this is a primarily Catholic holiday) there are reasons why I embrace this particular celebration. I view it as a colorful opportunity to embrace my culture. I personally don't take on the tradition of building an altar for the dead, but I do see it as a time to reflect, respect and remember. What a beautiful opportunity for artistic expression too! Check out the skulls below, filled with vibrant colors and cultural art.
