Jackie | Senior Portraits (and then some...)

I had a hard time coming up with the right words to describe Jackie when writing this blog entry. I felt like I had so much to say about her and wasn't sure I could do her justice. This girl is just so cool, I kinda want to start her fan club. Jackie is one of those people that you meet and immediately realize they are going to change the world. Aside from her striking beauty and undeniable book smarts, what really hits you is how kind and genuine she is.

Jackie doesn't wear makeup. And, frankly, she doesn't need it. But her reasoning is that she doesn't ever want to deceive anyone. She wants her presence to be all about "what you see is what you get", and doesn't want anyone to think they're not getting the real her. She is a natural beauty with brains  and a great heart whose family is everything.

She is graduating from Chapman University this year and asked me to do her senior portraits. I was so flattered when she did, but immediately leveraged with her. I said I'd do it, but in return she'd have to let me "play" and shoot something completely outside her comfort zone as well. So aside from her traditional senior portraiture, we put together a gypsy-meets-rock-country-chic (mouthful, I know!) theme and did some fun shots too!

~Jax, thanks for trusting me and letting me dress you up in crazy weirdo clothes and take you out to the middle of nowhere, where I did your makeup in the car and made a dressing room out of a light reflector between two cars. Where the damp ground reeked of cow poop and the mosquitoes ate our flesh. Thank you for that. You are awesome. And so are your freckles. And your Felicity hair too. Although you are too young to know what that is. The end.

And for our own artistic fulfillment...
