Jasmine | Orange County Maternity Photography

This maternity session was extra special to me because I got to reunite with my girl from high school after over 10 years! I hadn't seen Jasmine since we were both juniors at The Orange County High School of the Arts, when I had transferred from across town and she had transferred from Alaska. She and her mom (hi Cathy!) moved to Orange County so that she could study dance at OCHSA.

Jasmine is one of the sweetest, most beautiful people I have ever met. She is a light in any darkness and I was very lucky to have met her when I did. It's so weird looking back at those years. It was an awkward time for me and so much of it is blurred. Some of it actually hurts to think about and yet, when I think of Jasmine, it reminds me of something good and fun and warm. That's Jasmine for you.

It's been fun keeping track of each other via social media, but nothing beats the real deal! We met in Orange County for her maternity session and it was so wonderful to catch up! I feel like we just bounced around subjects in an attempt to cover it all. I think it's safe to say that Jasmine has done pretty good for herself. She owns an organic skin care line, has volunteered in African orphanages, is married to a loving, supportive, husband and is currently expecting her first baby. I was excited to photograph this special time in her life and grab some artsy shots of the beautiful momma-to-be. I wanted to create something that embodied who she is: earthy, soft, strong and pretty. And always, always boho-chic. ;)
