Oh my goodness. Where to even begin. This wedding is soooo overdue for bloggin'. Welcome to Jaci and Daniel's beautiful day! Jaci is a long time friend of mine...you may remember her from her graduation portraits,
these. Jaci is one of the most special, kind and beautiful human beings I have ever met. I was so honored to be asked to photograph her union to Daniel.
I'm having a hard time coming up with the right words to describe this day. Not because I can't think of any, but because there is so much I'd like to share. This wedding, or actually this day, was so unique. For starters, this was the first time I have ever had a bride getting dressed in the woods. Yes, the woods. Out in the open, in the middle of nowhere, with just a sheet underneath her feet. Dressed by her mother and maid of honor, Jaci decided to dress and do final touches in the woods where she would also be seeing Daniel for the first time. They chose to see each other, have a moment to themselves, have it all documented on camera and do formal portraits with the rest of the wedding party... all before the ceremony!
These two were showered with love and blessings from everyone around for the duration of the day. They said their "I do's" in their own church with all of their loved ones as witnesses. A picnic-themed reception followed, along with some very cool speeches and toasts. The show was nearly stolen, however, by Jaci's father, whose toast was one of the most colorful, elaborate and touching I have ever seen. He decided to provide Daniel with a "survival kit" with all of Jaci's favorite things. The kit included (but was not limited to) LA Rams gear, avocados, Jaci's favorite movie, fave candy... and a very special football. I may or may not have been a little glossy-eyed.
